Taking its name from the South East’s longest surviving ‘cross venue, the Foots Cray is a head turning, bang up to date cross ripper. Low & long, it errs toward a modern school of geometry. Handling, and fun are at the core! Thru axles front and rear, this disc specific is ready for serious off road abuse, but is still rock solid between the tapes.
While we always endeavour to hold full stock in our UK warehouse – and ship within 7 days of ordering, it is not always possible. For those products out of stock (these show as back orders in your cart) we ship from Taiwan monthly – usually in the third week of the month, and onward delivery to the customer within another week.
We have stock of pretty much all sizes and colours in Taiwan, so if we don’t have your colour and size here, it should be with you within a month from your order confirmation email. Any problems, we’ll be in touch withing 24 hours to let you know.
If you’ve always liked the idea of a cross bike, but think maybe you could do with something that could take on just that little bit more, then a Foots Cray could be the answer you’ve been looking for all that time. Capable come race day however it’s out in the big blue yonder that its characteristics truly come to the fore.
Borrowing more from the mountain bike world than the cyclocross fields, the Foots Cray stands aside from most CX bikes. Aside from the monster clearance up front with the CTRL forks, the frame is around 20mm longer than a road bred cross bike for a given size.
It is designed to run with a shorter stem to maintain the saddle to bar reach. A longer frame adds huge stability at speed as the wheel base is longer, and the design gives more room to move around between bars and saddle – it’s designed for big adventures where cross bikes usually don’t fare.
With 50mm between the rear stays and over 75 up front, big rubber fits fine, and with the usual Bowman attention to detail you know that the fun is going to last a long time.
7005-T6 Aluminium frame
High yield strength, triple butted and heat treated 7000 series aluminium lies at the heart of the frame. Forged and CNC’d with carefully considered details
Full Carbon, Tapered Steerer Fork
A larger bearing reduces headset wear and the oversize structure helps to keep everything in line when pushing the bike hard
Housing an oversize bearing, a tapered head-tube helps to maintain chassis stiffness helping the rider to hold lines in corners
All chainstay mounted – CNC machined – disc brake mounts allow for the use of 140mm rotors on the frame (and forks)
Forged BB Shell
Forged BB Shell
As well as holding the bearings, the forged BB shell incorporates a reinforced opening for the internal cable routing
Modular cable routing allows the user to choose between mechanical shifting full cable outers or electronic shifting by simply swapping out the capping plates.
Flat Seat Stays
Wider than they are tall, Flat Stays allow some vertical flex but resist side loads, and keep the back end on track
Ridged along the side, the T-shaped top tube resists sideways flex that can reduce cornering stability
External Modular Cable Guides
Full cable outers, and easy to maintain hose guide hardwear
142×12 Rear end
Bolt thru rear end maintains stiffness in the rough stuff
Fender / Rack Mounts
Fully supported rack / fender mounts
Structural Low-Rider Fork Mounts
Threading together from either side, these mounts can support loaded racks
INCLUDED with frame and forks: FSA, #42 ACB headset, Angle Slotted seat clamp
SPECIFICATION PF86 bottom bracket shell/ 27.2 seatpost for improved comfort / 34.9MM front mech clamp

Please remember, when comparing the Foots Cray Geometry to other brands, we run long top tubes and short stems.
Just comparing the reach to other companies and seeing how high or low the head tube is, will throw out your calculations.
As a rule – we run a 20-30mm shorter stem on our cross frames, as the top tube is a lot longer.
If you ride a 56cm pilgrims with an 110mm stem (traditional road geometry)
the same set up would require a Large Foots cray with a 80-85mm stem (foots Cray MTB inspired Geometry)
As a result of this, you need to take into account the length of the frame, so to find a size – add approx 25mm to your target reach – and check the stack of that size.
As always, any questions, we are at the end of the phone, or email to assist.
Taking the essence of a cyclocross bike but adding more capability with bigger tyre clearance and geometry designed for long distance riding. Ideal for a bit of everything riding, your imagination is your only limitation.
The Footscray is a go-anywhere cyclocross bike built for “ragging around” at speed off road.
