Sunday, May 26th:
Join us for a grand day out on our group ride in the Kentish lanes.
Venturing a little further afield than our winter loops, The Big Square Coffee loop is a 116km group ride with just under 1400m of climbing, looping south from Crystal Palace to Tonbridge and back. Heading south from the start at 4 Boroughs in CrystalPalace, we'll climb up and over the North Downs Ridge before turning eastwards and heading to the Fire Sation in Tonbridge for a mid-ride refreshment break. From there we turn for home, heading north and climbing back over the ridges and through Eyensford.
We will have two groups of around 10 riders allowing for varying fitness levels. The slower of the two will be riding at an average speed of around 20-21KPH over the rolling terrain. As all Bowman Rides, we look to maintain a cohesive group with the social aspect of riding being key. We won't be racing and each group will have at least two 'guides' who'll know the area and be able to offer assistance and knowledge where required. The faster of the two groups will likely be completing the loop with an average of around 24-25KPH.
The ride will be free to attend, but spaces are limited to ensure we can all have a great day out riding with friends - old and new.
